Fur Rondy is in full swing. Not sure what that means? The Fur Rondy Festival and the World Championship Sled Dog Race are major in the history and tradition of Anchorage. Even wikipedia gives you the Fur Rondy story! All over town, people are participating in community events, and my favorite is the snow (read ice) sculptures at Ship Creek. Not everything takes place outdoors, but the sun and clear sky certainly draw you there. At the end of the day, a quiet evening at the JarviHomestay is a great way to relax, especially with some time on the deck under the stars in the hot tub!
