Reservations

Make reservations in advance. If we are unable to schedule you, we will assist with recommendations for other Bed and Breakfasts that are inspected and approved by the AABBA.

Please pay deposits by check or money order. Your bill must be paid in full on the morning of your first day of stay, or can be paid in advance. Check, cash, & money order are currently accepted.

To maintain reasonable rates, we do not accept credit cards. There is, however, an ATM located approximately one mile north in the local shopping plaza.

A reservation at Jarvi Homestay is tentative (not confirmed) until your deposit is transferred.

We book guests for two or more nights at stated rates. If you are traveling alone, we will attempt to book you for a single night but must add an extra charge for cleaning on the same day as you check out.

Deposits, Cancellations, & Refunds

Deposits will be credited to your account total pending condition of the guest area. “Leave it better than you found it” is the code we live by. Reduce, reuse, recycle is a lifestyle we hope you share!

Deposit for room reservation: 50% of anticipated charge
Late arrival deposit: 100% of first night stay (if you have stayed with us before, this is waived)

A fourteen day notice of cancellation of your stay ensures the refund of your deposits. Cancellation with less notice results in prorated return of deposit fees; however, individuals listed on the final reservation statement who do not arrive (defined as ‘no shows’) will forfeit deposits.

Arrival & Departure Times

If you are traveling by air, checking in with the Jarvi Homestay will be coordinated with your arrival time. Should your flight occur early in the day, we may be able to store your baggage or have your room prepared ahead of schedule. Under usual circumstances, however, check in between 6:00 pm & 8:30 pm. Tell us about your schedule when you inquire!

Leaving

Jarvi Homestay checkout may also be determined by flight schedules. We ask that the rooms be cleared for maintenance & cleaning by noon.

Availability: Jarvi Homestay provides you with choice: convenience & comfort, tucked away from bustle and noise. Jarvi Homestay is located in the Oceanview area of South Anchorage just off the Seward Highway, a route leading to the Kenai Peninsula & many touring sites. This is a BnB close to downtown sites, yet near the waters of Cook Inlet and the peace of a quiet neighborhood. Why settle for concrete, parking lots, traffic, and close contact in public places?

The guest suite encompasses an entire floor of this split-level residence with many amenities. A garden room brings the outdoors in – occasionally featuring moose & birds en route to their destinations. And the hot tub on the upper deck allows you to luxuriate while listening to the breeze! Fabulous B&B outside of Anchorage.

I had a last minute trip to visit family in Anchorage. I was referred to Jarvi Home Stay and am so glad! I was welcomed like I was a friend! Mary and Dan looked out for me, sharing places they recommended I visit with my cousin and checked in each day to hear about my adventures. The breakfasts were tremendous! I’m diabetic and Mary made sure to have a variety of foods that were tasty and a great start to the day. I particularly enjoyed their puppy who curled up next to me as I watched tv or read. As a woman traveling alone, I felt very comfortable and safe at the Jarvi Home Stay. It was spotless and very comfortable. There were great restaurants nearby – a short drive away, about 1.5 miles. The area around the home was great for walking. I enjoyed a 2 mile neighborhood walk each morning before I started my day. I really enjoyed my visit to Jarvi Home Stay and look forward to returning for future visits.
